Chainlink Introduces Comprehensive Solution for On-Chain Compliance Automation0

The Chainlink Foundation has launched the Automated Compliance Engine (ACE), a modular platform intended to guarantee compliance in on-chain and hybrid financial activities. This solution is constructed on the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) framework and facilitates interaction with both public and private blockchains, allowing institutional investors to function securely and legally within the on-chain landscape.

ACE delivers KYC/AML compliance, digital identity management, and real-time automation of compliance protocols. The system is currently utilized by various organizations:

  1. The Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) offers on-chain verification of legal entities through vLEI, a cryptographically verifiable version of the Legal Entity Identifier, enabling institutional participants to verify counterparties’ status without disclosing unnecessary information.
  2. The ERC-3643 Association has incorporated ACE and vLEI support into the ERC-3643 standard, ensuring tokens align with dynamic and jurisdiction-specific regulations.
  3. Apex Group, which oversees $3.4 trillion in assets, employs ACE to issue permissioned ERC-3643 tokens with ONCHAINID integration.

The press release underscores the swift expansion of the tokenized assets market. BCG projects that tokenized illiquid assets will reach $16 trillion by 2030, while the World Economic Forum estimates the potential for tokenization at up to $867 trillion. Nonetheless, institutional adoption of blockchain solutions remains constrained without integrated compliance. ACE addresses this challenge by facilitating use cases such as:

  • fund subscriptions with eligibility compliance;
  • cross-border credit transactions with party accreditation checks;
  • transaction volume restrictions;
  • asset freezing policies for sanctions compliance;
  • collateral verification during token issuance.

ACE features a modular architecture, SDK support, templates, reusable components, and full compatibility with any blockchain networks, assets, and identity providers. The platform also accommodates CCID, a format for verified identification data utilizing vLEI, ONCHAINID, and other real-time sources accessible to .

Previously, ACE was utilized during the second phase of the digital Hong Kong dollar (e-HKD) pilot project, showcasing Chainlink’s infrastructure readiness to support real-world financial operations with stringent regulatory demands.
