Chainlink, a prominent provider of blockchain oracles, has announced a partnership with Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), a Fortune 500 network comprising exchanges and clearinghouses for financial and commodity markets across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. This initiative will utilize high-accuracy currency and precious metals quotes from the ICE Consolidated Feed to create on-chain quotes within the Chainlink service.

This collaboration will incorporate data encompassing over 150 currency pairs and essential precious metals, such as gold, silver, platinum, and palladium, into Chainlink Data Streams. Information from ICE, compiled from more than 300 global exchanges and trading platforms, will be accessible to all participants in the Chainlink ecosystem. ICE data will act as a primary source for aggregated metrics utilized by DeFi protocols.
Maurisa Baumann, VP for Global Data Delivery Platforms at ICE, remarked that the ICE Consolidated Feed offers structured multi-currency data sought after by leading financial institutions globally. Fernando Vázquez, President of Banking and Capital Markets at Chainlink Labs, highlighted that this integration enhances the institutional standard of data provision and aligns with the requirements of traditional capital markets, paving the way for the issuance of a new generation of tokenized products. Vázquez also noted that merging Chainlink’s infrastructure with ICE market data provides institutional players with access to secure, high-quality, near real-time data.
Analysts anticipate that the tokenized RWA market could reach $30.1 trillion by 2030. In the meantime, Chainlink is actively working on improving cross-chain settlement efficiency for tokenized assets and launching comprehensive solutions to automate regulatory compliance during the issuance and circulation of tokenized assets.
