Faustin-Archange Touadéra, the President of CAR, revealed the signing of a specific decree that authorizes the tokenization of over 1,700 hectares (4,200 acres) of land within the nation.

This land is situated to the west of the village of Bosongo, roughly 45 kilometers from Bangui, the capital of CAR. The tokenization process will adhere to existing laws, including the legislation on the tokenization of resources and mining activities that was enacted by the government in 2023.

The president indicated that beginning in June 2025, these parcels will be accessible online for purchase or lease in tokenized format. The national token CAR, which is issued on the Solana blockchain, will serve as the payment method.

“A new era of access and transparency begins,” stated Touadéra. He highlighted that the primary objectives of the initiative are to enhance the mining sector and attract foreign investment. The decree specifies that the tokenized lands may potentially be utilized for the extraction of gold, diamonds, and other resources.

This new decree represents a natural progression of the government’s initiative to tokenize mineral resources, which was announced in 2022, as well as the Sango project, recognized as the continent’s first crypto investment hub.
