Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Appointed to Co-Lead Transition Team with Crypto Connections
Cantor Fitzgerald’s CEO Howard Lutnick has been designated to co-lead Donald Trump’s transition team.
As per Trump’s presidential campaign, Lutnick, a key figure in the financial services industry, will be tasked with formulating policies and organizing personnel for Trump’s administration, contingent on his success in the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
Howard Lutnick is a “Fan of Bitcoin”
Lutnick’s participation in Trump’s transition team may indicate a prominent role for the financial services firm in influencing the administration’s stance on digital assets and cryptocurrency.
Under Lutnick’s guidance, Cantor Fitzgerald has been significantly engaged in the crypto sector, especially through its management of Tether’s Treasury portfolio since 2021.
Lutnick is also a notable supporter of Bitcoin, having initiated a $2 billion Bitcoin lending program at the Bitcoin 2024 event. His perspective on digital assets may imply that crypto-related policies could be a central theme in the administration’s economic strategy if Trump secures re-election.
“I am a fan of #Bitcoin. Cantor Fitzgerald is a fan of Bitcoin, and our investment bank is a rockstar in the digital asset space. We are just getting started,” Lutnick remarked.

WWE Co-Founder McMahon to Co-Lead Transition Team
This development arises as Trump’s campaign aims to bolster its connections with the crypto industry, following Lutnick’s initiatives to engage with Republican lawmakers regarding stablecoin regulation and his broader impact in the financial services sector.
“I have known Former President @realDonaldTrump for decades – I was even a guest on The Apprentice back in 2008. I appreciate his kind words about me and Cantor Fitzgerald during his speech at @TheBitcoinConf,” Lutnick shared in a social media update.
“It’s exciting to see him take a supportive stance on #Bitcoin, innovation in the industry, and its role in the US. A great friend and a great man,” Lutnick added.
In addition to Lutnick, former WWE CEO Linda McMahon has also been appointed as the co-leader of Trump’s transition team. McMahon previously served as the head of the Small Business Administration during Trump’s first term.
