BlackRock Introduces Staked ETH ETF — Will Wall Street Increase Its Investment?

25

BlackRock has identified a key reason why serious holders might avoid their spot ETF.

When US regulators authorized spot Ethereum ETFs in 2024, they completely omitted staking from these products.

This meant that anyone transferring their ETH into an ETF would have to relinquish their staking earnings. For numerous holders, this was a dealbreaker, leading them to abstain.

BlackRock has now addressed this issue. The firm introduced the iShares Staked Ethereum Trust (ticker: ETHB) on Nasdaq this week, marking it as the third in its portfolio, following IBIT for Bitcoin and ETHA for spot Ethereum.

On its first day, trading volume exceeded $15 million, which Bloomberg Intelligence analyst James Seyffart described as a very strong opening for an ETF launch.

This is how ETHB operates. The fund holds spot ETH and stakes between 70% and 95% of those assets via Coinbase Prime.

The Ethereum network currently offers an annual yield of about 3.1% on staked assets. After Coinbase takes a 10% fee and BlackRock applies its 0.25% sponsor fee, investors receive roughly 82% of the gross rewards distributed monthly, resulting in a net yield of approximately 1.9% to 2.2%.

For the initial year, BlackRock is providing a promotional fee of 0.12% on the first $2.5 billion in assets, undercutting most competitors from the outset.

The implications on the supply side are significant as well. Staking removes ETH from circulation. If ETHB grows to match ETHA’s $6.5 billion in assets, it would represent a substantial portion of supply permanently taken off the market.

Other asset managers are anticipated to follow suit with their own staked ETH offerings, further compounding this effect.

BlackRock currently manages over $55 billion in IBIT, $6.5 billion in ETHA, and its total digital asset exposure exceeds $60 billion.

Ethereum Price Prediction: Could This Be the Catalyst for ETH to Surge?

ETH is currently priced at $2,100, nearing the $2,200 resistance level that has capped every upward movement since the wedge formation began from the February lows.

The chart illustrates a clear rising wedge with prices establishing higher lows since the $1,850 support held and rebounded twice, and at present, prices are making their most convincing attempt at $2,200 yet, approaching this level with greater structure and momentum than any prior effort.

A decisive break and hold above $2,200 would set $2,400 as the next target, and beyond that, the full $2,750 level, which signifies a 43% increase from the current price.

The downside is also clearly delineated with $1,850 as the initial support that has already demonstrated its reliability, and $1,750 as the deeper support where the wedge trendline converges.

This Is Why Bitcoin Hyper Could Revive the Layer 2 Networks Narrative

Bitcoin is robust, secure, and reliable. However, it is also notably slow.

As a result, many individuals simply hold it, monitor the chart, and wait. Bitcoin Hyper aims to change this.

It retains Bitcoin’s security while offering Solana-level speed on top. This enables quicker payments, staking, genuine applications, and real on-chain activity instead of endless price observation.

The presale has already surpassed $32 million. $HYPER is currently valued at $0.0136751 before the next price increase occurs. Early stakers are receiving up to 37% in rewards.

When traders seek momentum, such yields attract attention rapidly.
