Binance and Franklin Templeton Collaborate on Digital Asset Offerings
Binance and Franklin Templeton have revealed a strategic alliance focused on creating innovative digital asset offerings that connect traditional financial markets with blockchain technology.
Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange globally, and Franklin Templeton, a leading global investment firm managing $1.6 trillion in assets, have entered into a partnership to work on digital projects and products. Their objective is to improve efficiency and transparency within capital markets, expedite settlements, and broaden investor access to emerging asset classes and technologies.
This collaboration will leverage Franklin Templeton’s knowledge in securities tokenization alongside Binance’s robust digital asset trading framework. The firms aim to provide solutions that ensure institutional-grade reliability and regulatory adherence while streamlining portfolio management and collateral processes.
Roger Bayston, Executive Vice President and Head of Digital Assets at Franklin Templeton, remarked that there is a growing interest among investors in tokenized instruments, which they expect to be both dependable and accessible. He mentioned that partnering with Binance enables them to “transform tokenization from concept to reality.”
Sandy Kaul, Executive Vice President and Head of Innovation at Franklin Templeton, pointed out that blockchain should not be perceived as a challenge to the traditional financial system but rather as a chance to rethink it. She noted that collaborative efforts with Binance will facilitate the expansion of their technologies, such as the Benji Technology Platform, and hasten the incorporation of decentralized solutions into institutional frameworks.
From Binance’s perspective, Catherine Chen, Head of VIP and Institutional at Binance, commented: “Binance has a history of pioneering first-in-crypto solutions. Our strategic partnership with Franklin Templeton to create new products and initiatives enhances our dedication to connecting crypto with traditional capital markets.”
The initial products resulting from this partnership are anticipated to be launched by the close of 2025.
Franklin Templeton has participated in various cryptocurrency initiatives for several years. The firm was among the early issuers of spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs in the United States and, in 2024, its analysts investigated the investment potential of memecoins.
