The Ministry of Education in Buenos Aires has collaborated with the Kipu Foundation to incorporate Ethereum and blockchain technology into the high school syllabus.

This initiative places Argentina ahead of its counterparts in Latin America, with the goal of equipping students with the necessary skills to succeed in the evolving tech economy.

Starting on August 27, high school students in Buenos Aires will have the chance to participate in professional internships centered on blockchain initiatives.

Argentina to Introduce Online Solidity Course

Alongside the in-school initiatives, the collaboration includes the creation of an online Solidity course, which is a programming language utilized for developing Ethereum applications.

The course will be accessible to 500 students aged 18 and above, offering them the resources to become engaged members of the Ethereum development community.

This training is anticipated to enable young Argentines to create applications that can be integrated into local business practices, potentially enhancing the country’s economic outlook.

To support the success of this initiative, the ETH Kipu Foundation has also pledged to train 30 educators through a hybrid training program focused on Ethereum and blockchain technology.

While there is currently no information regarding the potential expansion of this program to other cities or provinces in Argentina, the ongoing efforts represent a significant advancement in the country’s adoption of digital innovation.

Paula D., co-founder of the ETH Kipu Foundation, conveyed optimism about the program’s prospective impact.

“By incorporating Ethereum education into high schools, we’re not merely instructing students about technology—we’re equipping them with the means to influence the future,” she stated.

“This initiative will create new career pathways for young individuals and position Argentina at the forefront of the global blockchain movement.”

Milei Administration Changes Stance on Crypto Tax Benefits Law

Earlier this year, President Javier Milei of Argentina opted to exclude the proposed crypto tax law from a contentious omnibus reform package in an effort to accelerate the approval of a series of reforms.

The bill, referred to as the “Ley Ómnibus” or the “Law of Bases and Starting Points for the Freedom of Argentines,” initially contained provisions mandating taxpayers to declare ownership of previously undisclosed assets, including cryptocurrencies.

However, Interior Minister Guillermo Francos announced the removal of these provisions, citing the necessity for swift economic development and legislative efficiency as the primary reasons for the decision.

Argentina is currently facing a severe inflation crisis, with the nation recording the fourth-highest annual inflation rate globally at 200%.

At the same time, the country has emerged as one of the fastest-growing cryptocurrency markets.

Research from GWI indicates that Argentina has one of the highest rates of digital asset ownership at 23.5%, second only to Turkey at 27.1%.
