Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud division of the e-commerce leader, announced it will allocate $100 million for a center aimed at assisting organizations in utilizing generative artificial intelligence (AI).
Microsoft and Google, two other major companies, have made even larger commitments to AI.

- The executive clarified that the new initiative will not operate as a physical center but will instead function as a “program.” He noted that RyanAir, Lonely Planet, Highspot, and Twilio have already expressed interest.
- Selipsky envisions a promising future for artificial intelligence, referring to it as “the next wave of innovation in the cloud.” He believes it will be “the next big thing” that drives clients to seek cloud solutions.
- Amazon has already embraced the AI trend by launching the virtual assistant technology Alexa. However, these initiatives and the forthcoming $100 million investment fall short compared to the actions of other leading firms.
- The multinational technology corporation Microsoft invested $10 billion in OpenAI several months ago. This marks the third investment in the AI startup, following previous contributions in 2019 and 2021.
- Shortly thereafter, Google committed $300 million to Anthropic. Established in 2021 by former OpenAI members, Anthropic is a San Francisco-based company focused on AI safety and research.
