XRP Investment Products See 127% AUM Growth Amid Rising Demand

Investment products focused on XRP, the native token of the XRP Ledger, have experienced a significant increase in assets under management (AUM), recording a 127% growth this year. This upward trend is marked by six consecutive weeks of inflows, totaling $500,000. These inflows represent 12% of the total AUM for XRP-focused investment products.
This renewed interest stems from a key legal decision earlier this year that differentiated between sales of XRP to institutional investors and those on exchanges. Judge Analisa Torres’s ruling in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) case against XRP emphasized that the token is not inherently a security. This decision led major cryptocurrency exchanges such as Coinbase, Kraken, and Gemini to relist XRP, improving liquidity and boosting investor confidence.
However, recent updates indicate that the SEC plans to file an “interlocutory appeal” against the court’s ruling, primarily to clarify how the Howey test—a standard for defining securities—applies to Ripple’s programmatic XRP sales. This highlights the continuing regulatory uncertainty in the cryptocurrency sector.
Additionally, blockchain data shows a notable rise in daily transactions on the XRP Ledger. Since the start of August, the ledger has processed over 1.2 million transactions per day, exceeding the daily transaction volume on Ethereum, the second-largest network in the cryptocurrency space, which has recorded 1.09 million transactions daily.
In the wider market context, cryptocurrency volatility has led to a decline of nearly $10 billion in XRP’s market capitalization from its peak this year.
CoinShares’ latest Digital Asset Fund Flows Weekly report also points to a broader market trend. Last week, digital asset investment products saw $29 million in inflows, ending a three-week period of outflows. Bitcoin-focused products led with $27 million in inflows, while Ethereum-focused products received $2.5 million.
As regulatory dynamics shift and the crypto market experiences rapid changes, the performance of investment products tied to specific cryptocurrencies remains influenced by both market sentiment and regulatory outcomes. Investors and industry observers are closely watching these trends as the cryptocurrency landscape continues to develop.
