SafePal Unveils Upgraded Model of Its Leading Wallet Series0

SafePal, a comprehensive non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet suite backed by prominent entities such as Binance and Animoca Brands, boasting over 10 million users, is set to unveil the S1 Pro (an upgraded iteration of its widely-used S1 hardware wallet). This initiative aligns strategically with its plans to penetrate Japan and other significant Asian markets.

The S1 Pro preserves the unique air-gapped cold storage features, portability, and security of the S1, while enhancing durability. It also boasts an improved scratch-resistant display, extended battery life, and a differently positioned camera.

“Our team has consistently advocated for wallet security that is both affordable and accessible, to fulfill the financial inclusion that the crypto sector aims to achieve,” stated Veronica Wong, CEO and co-founder of SafePal. “The S1 has gradually earned acclaim for its value, convenience, and security, and the S1 Pro is our response to user demand for a superior alternative to Trezor or Ledger that is not excessively priced.”

The S1 Pro will be priced at $99 and will retain several of the S1’s notable features, including the anti-tamper self-erasing function and complete offline operation without Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC, or radio frequencies. This model is anticipated to be available through established, authorized distribution channels in August.

“While UI, UX, and the intricacies of the technology continue to pose challenges to adoption, addressing language barriers is essential for globalizing access to ,” remarked Veronica. “Japan and Korea represent two markets with significant potential, but they necessitate tailored localization efforts to effectively engage users.”

To facilitate entry into the Japanese market, the wallet suite is expanding partnerships, distribution, and reseller networks, in addition to onboarding local translators and team members. The wallet suite currently supports 15 languages, including Korean and Japanese.

To enhance compatibility with the 100+ supported networks, SafePal has recently integrated zero-knowledge and EVM networks, including zkSync Era, Polygon zkEVM, Telos, and Caduceus Metaverse Protocol into its wallet suite.

The wallet suite is also advancing its open-sourcing efforts, which are now 50% complete and expected to be finalized by early 2024.
