Polygon Labs and Warner Music Group Introduce Music Accelerator Initiative

- Projects selected will receive a range of benefits, according to the program’s official announcement.
- The selected projects will receive updates every quarter, along with strategic guidance.
Warner Music Group, a major player in the U.S. entertainment sector, and Polygon Labs have enhanced their collaboration by launching a music accelerator program aimed at fostering “the next generation of innovation at the intersection of Web3 and music.”
The two entities plan to offer funding for the creation of projects and decentralized applications related to music that will be deployed on the Polygon network as part of this initiative.
Diverse Range of Benefits
Additionally, applications will be evaluated on an ongoing basis, and selected projects will receive a diverse range of benefits, as stated in the program’s official announcement. WMG and Polygon Labs are providing financial support, while Polygon Labs is also offering partnership assistance to bolster the growing Polygon developer ecosystem.
The selected projects will receive quarterly updates, along with strategic guidance, networking opportunities, and marketing support from both organizations. At the intersection of music, technology, and Web3, Warner and Polygon are seeking applications that emphasize various elements, particularly those related to the integration of Web3 and music.
As noted by WMG’s Chief Digital Officer Oana Ruxandra, the aim of the new accelerator program is to assist its artists and songwriters in “building, activating, engaging, and monetizing their communities in this next era of music creation and consumption.”
This collaboration is not the first instance of Warner Music Group and Polygon joining forces on a project. In December 2022, the two companies initiated a multi-year Web3 music program in partnership with the e-commerce platform LGND.io. This initiative allows users to experience digital vinyl while on the go.
