The Miss Universe Organization has refuted any connection to the Miss Universe Coin initiative that was revealed during the Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW) event earlier this month. PBW has stated that they are in communication with all relevant parties and will provide an update shortly.

At the PBW event earlier this month, a project named Miss Universe Coin was introduced. Donald Lim, the founder of the organization overseeing the PBW, mentioned during the event that the PBW would “launch the Miss Universe Coin.” However, weeks following this announcement, the official organization responsible for Miss Universe has disavowed any link to the coin initiative, labeling it a fraud.

On September 22, the official Facebook page of Miss Universe declared that the Miss Universe Organization and JKN Global Group, the entity behind the pageant, are not linked to the coin initiative that was presented at the PBW event. The organization indicated that it would be exploring “all legal options concerning this infringement.”

“There is currently no Miss Universe cryptocurrency or blockchain offering, and these products are in no way involved with the voting or selection process for Miss Universe or the Miss Universe Philippines pageants,” they stated.

In a communication sent to Cointelegraph, a representative from the Miss Universe Organization asserted that the Miss Universe Coin is a “fraud,” and they anticipate it being mentioned at other events worldwide. “We suspect that individuals may plan to reference this at forthcoming blockchain conferences in Dubai and Singapore. If you encounter it there, please do not cover it; it’s a fraud,” they remarked.
