Local Web3 community initiates ‘Crypto Aid Israel’ to assist displaced individuals.
A coalition of regional leaders in the cryptocurrency sector, including 42Studio, MarketAcross, Collider Ventures, CryptoJungle, Nilos, Blockchain B7, Efficient Frontier, Ironblocks, the Israel Blockchain Association, Bits of Gold, along with Cointelegraph, have come together to create Crypto Aid Israel, a global fundraising effort aimed at assisting displaced Israeli citizens requiring humanitarian support.
The ongoing conflict has severely impacted the local civilian population, with current casualty figures estimated in the thousands.
A recent article from the Israeli news outlet Haaretz reports that the assaults on the local population have led to the deaths of at least 700 Israelis “and nearly 2,400 injured since Hamas’ unexpected invasion on Saturday morning. In Gaza, Palestinians report 560 fatalities and over 2,700 injuries.”
Ben Samocha, the CEO of CryptoJungle, stated that Crypto Aid Israel’s objective is to deliver immediate assistance to those affected:
“We aim to gather the necessary funds to supply food and shelter for families who have lost their homes. We also intend to provide hygiene and medical supplies for the impacted Israeli civilian population…”
Crypto Aid Israel is managing a multisig wallet, supervised by prominent figures in the local Web3 community. To contribute and support their initiative, you can visit their website here.
According to a press release distributed to Cointelegraph, the founders of Crypto Aid Israel are advising those wishing to assist to exercise caution in verifying that their contributions are directed to the correct wallet:
“It is crucial to consider before donating that due to possible phishing scams and cyber threats, please verify the crypto wallet address against the confirmed one on the official website, to ensure that funds are not sent to addresses that may have been provided through other channels.”
The Crypto Aid Israel initiative accepts donations in both Bitcoin and Ether.
