Light Protocol Launches Light V3 zkLayer on Solana
- Light V3, the zkLayer is now operational on Solana.
- Private Solana Programs (PSP) is prepared to commence.
The Light Protocol team has officially launched Light V3, the inaugural zero-knowledge Layer (zkLayer) on the Solana blockchain platform. This is known as PSP (Private Solana Programs).
The launch occurred today following several months of development for the next iteration of Light Protocol. This advancement enables developers to create a variety of applications utilizing the Solana blockchain. Examples include quicker and more efficient private payments, encrypted order bookings, and public on-chain games with a private state.

This system is equipped with full zkSNARK verification, achieving a processing speed of 400ms for each atomic transaction. It also facilitates direct settlements on Solana without rollups, thereby ensuring accurate state transactions under client computation. Additionally, it does not disclose the transition itself.
How To Use Light Protocol?
The utilization of Light Protocol is simplified with reference tutorials and documentation available on their website. It covers everything from fundamental concepts to advanced topics, along with discussions hosted on Discord and email support.
Accessible Through Github
Light Protocol has made its GitHub accessible, featuring a security policy under the GPL-3.0 license for developers. The Next-Gen zkLayer for Solana is set to launch its testnet in the coming months, ahead of the Solana Mainnet. In the meantime, users can begin developing their PSP projects at any time, which also allows for customization.
Recently, in March, Light Protocol reported the shielding of $1.52M worth of Solana (SOL) for private transaction verification after Light V1 completed 2 million transactions. Furthermore, the announcement of Light V2 has generated significant interest within the crypto community on Twitter.
