Layer-1 Blockchain Network Sui Attracts Web3 Game Creators0

  • Sui distinguishes itself with its unique standards and methodology regarding on-chain assets.
  • According to Mysten Labs, more than 40 games are currently under development on Sui.

Although it is relatively new, the Layer 1 blockchain network Sui has rapidly positioned itself as a highly attractive option for game developers. Web3 platforms such as Polygon, Immutable, Avalanche, and Solana offer an expanding array of games at different stages of development.

In contrast, Sui, which launched its mainnet on Wednesday, is notable for its distinct technological standards and approach to on-chain assets, making it a compelling choice for game developers looking to innovate.

Enhancing Player Experience

As the number of online games and decentralized applications (dapps) increases, Sui’s ability to process transactions in parallel and scale horizontally by incorporating additional nodes to meet demand will become increasingly valuable.

Mysten Labs, the organization behind Sui, anticipates that the platform’s “object-based” framework and support for dynamically updated NFTs will attract game developers.

Despite the mainnet being operational for only a brief period, Mysten Labs’ Head of Gaming Partnerships, Anthony Palma, indicated that over 40 games are currently being developed on Sui.

Palma remarked:

“Our mission is to pursue not ‘blockchain games’ or ‘crypto games,’ but to focus on exceptional games created by outstanding game developers who wish to utilize Web3 to enhance player experience and foster greater engagement and agency.”

Unlike several other Web3 gaming networks, Sui does not support Ethereum compatibility through the Ethereum Virtual Machine; however, Mysten is confident that the network’s inherent appeal for gaming will attract a significant number of players.
