Last Remains Enters Cointelegraph Accelerator Amid Web3 Zombie Apocalypse
In recent years, gaming powered by blockchain technology has surged in popularity, emerging as a fresh phenomenon within the crypto landscape, with blockchain games representing 50% of all blockchain activity by early 2023. As this trend continues to grow, new participants are entering the market, moving past the initial excitement of token collection and redirecting attention towards gameplay features.
The newest and most advanced games are designed with the changing preferences of players in mind, considering popular genres that engage audiences, such as stealth and battle royale. Additionally, Last Remains aims to introduce a zombie-themed twist to the Web3 gaming environment.

Last Remains, a triple-A Web3 multiplayer battle royale zombie game that has previously raised $4.75 million in funding from prominent figures in the crypto sector, including CoinFund, Fabric, and Animoca Brands, has recently become a strategic partner of the Cointelegraph Accelerator — a startup incubator utilizing Cointelegraph’s media resources.
Created by a team with backgrounds at Riot Games, Bethesda, Junglee Games, and Blizzard Entertainment, Last Remains aims to elevate the beloved formula to a higher standard of quality by leveraging Web3 technologies.
Remaining faithful to the mechanics of the battle royale genre, players in Last Remains commence each round at random spots within a city overrun by zombies. Although they start without substantial means for survival, the city map is rich with lootable resources, consumables, and weaponry.
In terms of combat, the game presents a blend of Assassin’s Creed stealth gameplay and the hallmark elements of PUBG’s battle royale. Players can approach zombies stealthily, eliminate them with melee weapons, or charge in with firearms.

Players have the freedom to choose from a wide array of weapons to suit their preferred playstyle, ranging from the classic frying pan to the widely favored katana. The primary objective is to survive until the rescue team retrieves the winner from a progressively shrinking active map. Among the first three players to reach the extraction point, the one with the highest score — determined by their loot and kills during the match — claims victory.
As part of its launch strategy, the Last Remains team has announced the minting of the initial 5,000 Genesis Character non-fungible tokens. After the sale, developers will dedicate the remainder of Q2 to conducting monthly alpha tests, followed by a beta phase in the subsequent quarter.
The Cointelegraph Accelerator Program aids emerging Web3 startups and projects by offering visibility through Cointelegraph, a leading crypto and blockchain media outlet since 2013. The program selected Last Remains as a partner due to its emphasis on gameplay, high production standards, the robust support the game has garnered, and the developers’ proven experience. Through the Accelerator program, Last Remains intends to solidify its brand in the competitive landscape by collaborating with content creators and game developers.
