Korea Blockchain Week Makes a Comeback in 2023 After Highly Successful 2022 Event
Korea Blockchain Week (KBW), a prominent event in the blockchain and Web3 sector in Asia, is set to return for 2023 following the remarkable success of the 2022 edition, which marked the first in-person gathering since the Covid pandemic.
KBW2023 is organized by Factblock, a Web3 ecosystem accelerator, and co-hosted by Hashed, a leading venture capital fund based in Korea. The conference is scheduled to occur from September 4 to September 9, with the primary event, KBW: Impact, taking place on September 5 and 6 at The Shilla Seoul, the main venue for the event. Korea Blockchain Week 2023 follows the successful KBW 2022, which, despite the downturn in the market, drew over 8,700 participants, 256 journalists, and 130 speakers.
KBW featured an impressive roster of speakers, including prominent crypto innovators and founders such as Vitalik Buterin, Changpeng Zhao, Sandeep Nailwal, Illia Polosukhin, Caroline Pham, Michael Blank, among others. The speaker lineup for this year has yet to be revealed, but the upcoming edition is expected to build upon last year’s significant achievements, incorporating even more speakers from leading Layer1, Layer2, DeFi, NFT, and GameFi projects, along with well-known journalists, venture funds, and market participants.
The content agenda, which is still in development, will encompass technical and business presentations and panels from participants discussing the emerging trends of 2023, including artificial intelligence, zero-knowledge technology, blockchain regulation, and more. KBW 2022 resulted in over 130 published articles and an impressive 1.42 billion online reader impressions, facilitated by its media partners. MarketAcross, a prominent PR firm, will also return as a media partner for this year’s edition.
“Since its launch in 2018, KBW has been a joint initiative between Factblock and Hashed to establish the most influential blockchain event globally, extending beyond Asia. KBW2022 brought us closer to this objective, with the involvement of insightful and passionate thought leaders and a variety of engaging side events.
This year, we are intensifying our preparations for KBW2023, with the goal of creating a global platform where blockchain innovators from around the world can convene to exchange new trends and insights within the industry. We anticipate that this event will generate new opportunities through a strong network effect,” stated Edward Hong, Chief Platform Officer at Hashed.
“Korea continues to be a leading player in the blockchain sector, and the significant success of KBW 2022 is a testament to this, attracting large audiences and top talent in the ecosystem even during a bear market,” remarked Seonik Jeon, founder of Factblock and Korea Blockchain Week. “For this year’s event, our aim is to further enrich the KBW experience by promoting the exchange of innovative ideas and opportunities within the field, with an increased emphasis on expanding the institutional and NFT landscape.”
