The open-source Hedera proof-of-stake public network’s governing council has announced the inclusion of COFRA as a new member, raising the total number of council members to 30. COFRA is a family-owned enterprise that has been established for 182 years and currently employs over 60,000 individuals worldwide.
COFRA, which prioritizes customer engagement, has joined the Hedera Governing Council (HBAR) with the intention of creating innovative blockchain-based solutions on the platform, starting with tokenization and enhancing supply chain transparency. The company plans to distribute tokenized representations of physical assets through Hedera’s proprietary Token Service (HTC).
Simon Olson, co-chair of Hedera’s membership committee, remarked:
“COFRA has a long, successful track record of building coalitions to tackle difficult problems and we believe that they will contribute enormously to Hedera.”
