Coinbase’s layer-2 network Base experiences its initial significant disruption since its debut.
Coinbase’s Ethereum layer-2 network Base experienced its first significant outage since its public debut on August 9.
For around 45 minutes on September 5, no new blocks were generated on the Base chain. Developers first detected the “stalled” block production at 9:36 pm UTC, as reported by the Base status site. Block production has now resumed.

“We discovered a delay in block production due to a portion of our internal infrastructure needing a refresh. We’ve applied a fix and are observing widespread recovery,” Coinbase informed Cointelegraph in response to an inquiry regarding the outage.
Base stated that it is actively monitoring the chain for any additional issues.

Coinbase’s Base chain just had its first major outage, lasting for 43 minutes. Blocks have just started to be produced again.
