Billy Markus, Co-Creator of Dogecoin, Reveals Key Cryptocurrency Guidelines and Preferences

The developer of the popular meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin (DOGE) has disclosed the key principle he adheres to when investing in digital currencies, along with the tokens he holds in high regard.
DOGE co-creator Billy Markus, who is also recognized as Shibetoshi Nakamoto, stated in a recent thread that investors should refrain from allocating more funds to crypto assets than they would be comfortable losing in a fire. Billy Markus is additionally known as Satoshi Nakamoto.
“The primary guideline I consistently share with individuals regarding cryptocurrency is that they should never invest more than they are prepared to lose in a fire.”
Following this, Markus highlighted some of his preferred digital currencies, which encompass Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), currently the leading two digital assets by market capitalization. He also described Dogecoin as “Bitcoin dressed in a dog suit” and expressed his disapproval of ERC-20 tokens, which are assets built on the Ethereum network.
“I prefer the major players (Bitcoin and Ethereum), as Doge is essentially Bitcoin in a dog costume. I have a strong dislike for nearly all ERC-20 tokens.”
Earlier this year, Markus cautioned investors to steer clear of memecoins and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). He remarked that the cryptocurrency landscape has become “stupider” over the past decade and likened it to gambling.
At the time of this report, one dogecoin is available for $0.0617, reflecting a decline of 8.1% over the last twenty-four hours.
