World Liberty Financial, the cryptocurrency initiative connected to U.S. President Donald Trump and his family, is set to develop a foreign-exchange platform named World Swap, which co-founder Zak Folkman noted will focus on international transfers. World Swap will utilize the USD1 stablecoin and will charge less than traditional money transfer services, which can impose fees as high as 10% per transaction.
Binance co-CEO Richard Teng responded to claims that his company had a disproportionately significant role in the liquidation event on October 10, which resulted in $19 billion in liquidations. He asserted that broader market downturns were driven by macroeconomic shocks.
Consensus day two also saw zkME take the title at the Consensus PitchFest and FoundrAI emerge victorious in the Easy A x Consensus Hackathon.
Both events will return on May 5-7, when CoinDesk will host its flagship North American Consensus — this time in Miami.
