Bitcoin ($BTC) Price Could Hit $100,000 After Halving; VP Predicts

In an industry characterized by speculation and forecasts, Davis Hui, Vice President of firm Canaan, recently issued a compelling prediction: Bitcoin could surge to $100,000 following its next halving event in April 2024. Hui, alongside other mining ecosystem executives from Singapore, Kazakhstan, and the United Arab Emirates, presented these bullish projections during Canaan’s Avalon Bitcoin and Crypto Day (ABCD) in Singapore.

This anticipation arrives at a pivotal moment as financial giants make significant inroads into the . Collectively, these institutions manage approximately $27 trillion in assets and include industry titans such as BlackRock, Fidelity, and JPMorgan. Consequently, this growing institutional interest is expected to amplify demand for Bitcoin.

According to Hui, the upcoming halving event, which will reduce Bitcoin’s block reward to 6.25 , is poised to drastically curtail the cryptocurrency’s supply. Coupled with a surge in demand—particularly from financial institutions and pending spot applications with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)—the conditions are set for a substantial price increase.

Hui is not alone in his bullish outlook. Other prominent industry figures, such as eToro CEO Yoni Assia, remain optimistic about Bitcoin despite the cryptocurrency market currently experiencing a decline that has pushed BTC’s to approximately $500 billion.

Additionally, investment research firm Fundstrat has suggested that Bitcoin could experience an increase of over 500%, targeting the $180,000 mark before the next halving. Notably, Standard Chartered, a London-based multinational bank, expects Bitcoin to reach $120,000 by the end of 2024.

Thus, reduced supply, surging demand, and burgeoning institutional interest create a promising landscape for Bitcoin’s future. With such substantial stakes involved, all eyes will remain on Bitcoin as it approaches its next pivotal halving event. However, the volatility and unpredictability of the crypto market mean that even the most promising predictions should be viewed with caution.
