The State Duma proposed an amnesty for miners0

Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Leonid Slutsky proposed to forgive violations of miners who hide their business from the authorities.

The head of the LDPR faction in the State Duma made his proposal while speaking at the party’s “political crypto forum.” According to Slutsky, in the middle of last year, just over a thousand mining firms were registered with the Federal Tax Service, but this is only a third of the total number of companies and entrepreneurs involved in the extraction of cryptocurrencies. Illegally imported equipment becomes an obstacle to registration, the deputy explained.

“These miners are now in no hurry to submit applications for inclusion in the Federal Tax Service registers, fearing liability for the use of such equipment. We proposed introducing an amnesty for previously imported equipment if the miner declared its presence and applied for inclusion in the register,” said the LDPR leader.

Slutsky proposed giving mining firms a transition period of one and a half years. It will allow business to adapt to legal requirements, and the state to formulate rules and requirements.

The deputy called on the Bank of Russia and the Ministry of Finance to cooperate with representatives of the mining industry when working together on laws. This will allow regulators to better understand the peculiarities of the functioning of the , explained the chairman of the LDPR.

The other day, the Russian Central Bank announced new requirements for crypto exchanges and exchangers.
