The founder of the collapsed Zerebro project is suspected of staging a suicide attempt again., 2026/02/13 14:33:39

The creator of the neural network for content on decentralized platforms, Zerebro, Jeffy Yu, who is accused of a “pump and dump” scheme involving his tokens, is suspected of staging a suicide attempt again.
A blogger known as alvennya on social media platform X claimed that 23-year-old Jeffy Yu took his own life and shared details about recent funeral services at a cemetery in Roseville, where the deceased was recorded as Jeffy Zhenyu Yu. The anonymous source asserts that they possess recordings of police conversations at the scene of the incident, discussing the suicide. Alvennya claims to have listened to several hours of police audio from January 1 to 2. According to the blogger, they have screenshots obtained from Roseville police indicating that the Zerebro founder was experiencing a psychological crisis.
Last year, Yu had already staged a suicide — following the launch of his own death-themed meme coin. He fabricated his own obituary and planned a series of posts. It later emerged that Yu had sold Zerebro tokens worth $1.4 million. Journalists from The San Francisco Standard located the individual and confirmed that he is alive and residing at his parents’ home in San Francisco.
In the comments to alvennya’s post, tweets emerged claiming that the police audio recording was generated by artificial intelligence, that Yu’s accounts on X and Telegram had been deleted, and that local media had not reported on the suicide. The alvennya account was created approximately six years ago, but it has published very few posts in the last month, all focused on Yu’s alleged suicide.
A few days ago, the law firm Burwick Law, which specializes in cryptocurrency, filed a lawsuit against Jeffy Yu. They accused the Zerebro founder of fraud, market manipulation with tokens, and staging his own death to divert investors’ attention from the project’s collapse.
Previously, Burwick Law expressed concerns about the meme coin launch platform Pump.fun, demanding that the team cease the creation of meme coins associated with the law firm. Last year, Burwick Law threatened to sue the crypto platform Believe, suspecting it of fraud.
