The American regulator approved the launch of an exchange-traded fund linked to LINK, 2026/01/14 15:16:00

Investment firm Bitwise has received approval from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch an exchange-traded fund (ETF) linked to the Chainlink (LINK) cryptocurrency. The Fund’s shares will be traded on the NYSE Arca Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol CLNK.

Thanks to the new ETF, investors will have access to LINK and the ability to track altcoin price dynamics through the traditional market without the need to own the crypto asset directly. The investment company expects trading in the fund to begin this week.

To attract investors, Bitwise has waived fund management fees for the first three months or until the fund’s assets reach $500 million. After that, the fee will be 0.34% per annum. The CLNK fund has an initial capital of $2.5 million: 100,000 shares (units) at a price of $25 each.

The Coinbase Custody service will handle the storage of LINK crypto assets, and the BNY Mellon bank will be responsible for the safety of funds and risk control. In the future, Bitwise plans to add a staking feature. The exact timing is unknown, but if the feature appears, the staking service provider could be Attestant.

Against the backdrop of the appearance of the order, LINK grew by 5% within 24 hours, to $13.8. Market capitalization is $9.8 billion. LINK’s daily trading volume increased by 106% to $651.5 million.

The Bitwise fund has become the second US-listed Chainlink-linked spot ETF. Last month, investment firm Grayscale converted Chainlink Trust into a spot ETF, which now trades under the ticker symbol GLNK. This fund has $87.5 million in assets under management.

Previously, Bitwise investment director Matt Hougan supported the creation of spot ETFs based on memcoins so that investors would have a new way to invest in such tokens. Hougan recently said that pension funds should not be prohibited from investing in Bitcoin.
