Santiment reports investor readiness to make purchases during market downturns., 2026/02/09 12:05:32

Retail investors are anticipating the moment when the cryptocurrency market hits its lowest point, aiming to acquire as many coins as possible at reduced prices, according to analysts from the Santiment platform.
Their assessment suggests that the market capitulation discussed on social media will occur very soon or may have already taken place.
“Retail investors are looking for signs that others are exiting the market. They perceive this as an advantageous entry point into the crypto market,” Santiment noted.
Amid the ongoing bearish trend, the fear of missing out among retail investors is beginning to outweigh concerns about further declines in prices, analysts observed.
However, for a complete shift towards a bullish trend, a phase of “final cleansing” is necessary, during which the most vulnerable categories of cryptocurrency holders must exit their positions, the analysts explained.
Previously, Bitwise’s Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan stated that a significant portion of negative sentiment has already been factored into Bitcoin’s price, and the asset’s value is likely to rise as the bearish trend wanes.
