Analysts from the on-chain platform Santiment have reported an increase in pessimistic sentiments among retail investors regarding Bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies.

Their assessment indicates that the current market dynamics are largely influenced by participant behavior and overall sentiment rather than fundamental factors.

Santiment highlighted that crypto assets often move contrary to the expectations of the majority. In such circumstances, a decline in sentiment may serve as a leading indicator of a potential reversal.

“When fear dominates the market, it often coincides with the formation of a local bottom. From this perspective, current levels are viewed by some participants as a potential entry point, albeit with increased risks,” the analysts stated.

Pressure remains in the segment of the largest assets. Among the top 10 by market capitalization, the most significant decline was observed in Solana, which fell by more than 5% during the session. Bitcoin, during the same period, dropped below $67,000, reaching around $66,300.

In the short term, analysts anticipate heightened volatility. The market continues to be sensitive to macroeconomic signals, including expectations regarding interest rates in the U.S. and liquidity dynamics, as well as capital flows through exchange-traded instruments.

A key factor in the coming weeks may be the behavior of large investors. If there is stabilization or an influx of capital, the market could shift towards consolidation followed by recovery. Otherwise, pressure on prices may persist.

Previously, analyst Benjamin Cowen remarked that the current market situation resembles the dynamics of 2022 and suggested the possibility of further declines in Bitcoin’s price.
