Russian miners are expected to pay 567 million rubles in taxes for the previous year, as reported by RIA Novosti, citing a presentation by Denis Kuzmichev, head of the Federal Tax Service’s (FTS) taxpayer registration and accounting department. This amount is ten times lower than anticipated.

Of the projected 567 million rubles in tax revenues from miners, approximately 84 million rubles will come from personal income tax (PIT), while 483 million rubles will be from corporate profit tax, according to an FTS representative during a meeting of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).

Kuzmichev noted that the largest share of tax revenues occurred in the second quarter of the previous year, totaling around 180 million rubles. He identified several factors that hindered revenue growth, including a low percentage of legalized miners, a decline in the dollar exchange rate and Bitcoin prices, rising electricity tariffs, and a high hash rate of the leading cryptocurrency network.

Sergey Bezdolov, the first deputy chairman of the CCI’s financial market and investment council and director of the Industrial Mining Association, stated that initial expectations for revenue were significantly higher. He indicated that tax revenues from mining were projected to reach approximately 6 billion rubles for 2025.

Earlier, the newspaper Kommersant reported that Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak proposed changing the electricity payment structure for mining farms and data centers. Starting in 2027, facilities with a capacity of 670 kW or more may be switched to a “take or pay” scheme based on declared capacity rather than actual consumption.
