Michael Saylor identifies three primary factors driving Bitcoin’s growth., 2026/02/18 11:30:37

The chairman of Strategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, Michael Saylor, stated that the long-term growth of the leading cryptocurrency is driven by three primary factors.
According to him, the demand for Bitcoin is generated in several ways: as a digital equivalent of gold, as a tool for transforming the financial system, and as a form of ownership that can be easily transferred across borders. Regardless of the economic climate, at least one of these factors will sustain the long-term growth of the asset.
Saylor pointed out that the current downturn in the crypto market can be referred to as a crypto winter; however, it is considerably milder than previous cycles. He mentioned that the ongoing correction remains within historical norms and is likely to be shorter than past downturns, followed by phases of recovery and renewed growth.
“An increasing number of investors are incorporating a small portion of BTC into their portfolios for diversification, even if they are not ideological supporters. The crypto industry has entered a phase of more mature institutional participation compared to earlier cycles,” Saylor explained.
Strategy plans to continue acquiring Bitcoin at least once a quarter, regardless of the current price. Volatility is a natural aspect of the leading cryptocurrency, and this will not alter the company’s strategy. The firm has sufficient cash reserves to meet obligations for two years, even in a frozen market, he added.
Previously, on the program What Bitcoin Did, Saylor mentioned that the real progress of Bitcoin is reflected not in price charts but in the crypto investments of major companies and the willingness of banks to utilize BTC.
