NFT из коллекции Джастина Бибера обесценился на 99%0

The non-fungible token #3001 from the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection, owned by singer and actor Justin Bieber, has depreciated by 99% over four years since its acquisition—from $1.3 million to $12,000.

Bieber’s purchase price in 2022 was above the market average, as similar tokens from this collection were valued between $200,000 and $300,000 at that time. Currently, the highest bid for an NFT from the BAYC series stands at 5.9 (approximately $11,700).

The Bored Ape Yacht Club collection consists of 10,000 images created by Yuga Labs in April 2021. The initial price for each image was 0.08 ETH, and all NFTs sold out within half a day. By May 2022, the minimum price on the secondary market reached 128–145 ETH, which corresponded to $350,000–420,000 based on the exchange rate at that time.

Justin Bieber possesses at least one more NFT from this series—an ape numbered 3850. The singer acquired it shortly after the first one for approximately $470,000. The value of this NFT is also within the range of 6 ETH.

In October 2025, a class-action lawsuit was filed in California by owners of the “Bored Apes” NFTs, accusing celebrities, including Bieber, of artificially inflating the price of BAYC. The plaintiffs claimed that the tokens are unregistered securities and that the expensive purchases of “drawn apes” constitute fraud and a marketing ploy.

A few months prior, U.S. authorities concluded a three-year investigation into Yuga Labs, suspecting the company of violating U.S. securities laws.
