In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, four girls aged 18 to 19 reported to the police after transferring funds to scammers who promised profits from Bitcoin trading via a messaging app.
According to law enforcement officials, from March 2 to March 25, the girls communicated with an account that offered earnings through cryptocurrency investments. The interlocutor guaranteed a secure income and quick withdrawal of funds. Following the provided instructions, the girls sent money to the specified bank account, after which access to the funds was lost.
The total amounts lost were 22,000, 173,000, approximately 72,000, and over 310,000 rubles. Police have seized bank statements, screenshots of the conversations, and other digital evidence. A criminal case has been initiated under the fraud statute.
Previously, the prosecutor’s office in the Krasnoyarsk region reported that a 26-year-old deputy director of a children’s store in Achinsk transferred 9.3 million rubles to scammers, hoping to profit from cryptocurrency transactions.
