In Pavlov, a woman lost 6.3 million rubles in a cryptocurrency scheme., 2026/03/21 06:35:33

A resident of Pavlov transferred over 6.3 million rubles to fraudsters in an attempt to profit from cryptocurrency investments, as reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nizhny Novgorod region.
According to the agency, the perpetrators contacted the victim via a messaging app and proposed a way to earn additional income. They persuaded her to download an application that was supposedly designed for learning about investments in digital assets.
The scammers claimed that the funds transferred would be used to purchase a virtual “coin,” which could later be sold at a higher price. A fictitious increase in profits was displayed in her personal account.
The woman took out a loan of 2 million rubles secured by her apartment, borrowed over 1 million rubles from acquaintances, and transferred her own savings into the application. Later, the fraudsters suggested that she sell her car, but she declined the offer.
The total damage amounted to 6,367,499 rubles. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and efforts are underway to locate those involved.
Previously, the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nizhnekamsk district of the Republic of Tatarstan reported that a 37-year-old resident of Nizhnekamsk lost 3.6 million rubles by investing in a fictitious crypto project.
