Bitcoin wallet of early holder executes first transaction in 14 years., 2026/03/20 19:03:09

A significant Bitcoin holder’s wallet, inactive for 13 years and seven months, has transferred 0.00079 BTC (approximately $56). The current value of the Bitcoins in this wallet is estimated to be around $147 million, according to blockchain analysts from LookonChain.
The address, which begins with 1NB3ZX…, received 2100 BTC on July 5, 2012, when the price of Bitcoin was about $6.59 per coin. The initial investment of $13,800 has increased by more than 10,000 times. Since then, there have been no transactions associated with this address.
Commenters on LookonChain’s post on social media speculated that the wallet owner may have recently regained access to their seed phrase or private key and executed a test transaction before withdrawing a substantial portion of the funds.
In January, another Bitcoin holder, who began accumulating coins in 2013, transferred their entire stash of 909 BTC ($85 million) to a new wallet after more than 13 years of inactivity. The holdings of this “whale” appreciated 13,900 times, as the coins were initially purchased for less than $7 each.
This week, a long-dormant unidentified large investor, another “sleeping whale,” acquired 50,706 ethers for 111.62 million USDT.
A few days prior, another early crypto trader purchased 23,393 ethers for $49 million USDT — analysts from LookonChain suggested that the wallet might belong to ShapeShift founder Erik Voorhees, although he attempted to refute this claim. On Friday, March 20, LookonChain reported that Voorhees bought an additional 6,508 ETH for $13.8 million, and a few hours later spent another $30.72 million on 14,425 ethers. Over the past two weeks, this wallet has acquired a total of 118,240 ETH at an average price of $2,163, spending $255.72 million on the tokens.
