A deputy has been placed on the wanted list in connection with an illegal mining investigation., 2026/03/04 14:10:53

Law enforcement agencies in the Krasnoyarsk region have placed regional legislative assembly deputy Alexey Boykov on an international wanted list. He is implicated in a criminal case concerning large-scale fraud related to cryptocurrency mining, according to sources from TASS within Russian security services.
Information regarding Boykov’s wanted status is available in the police database. The deputy is accused of illegal mining, resulting in damages amounting to 300 million rubles. He faces a potential prison sentence of up to ten years (Article 159, Part Four). According to investigators, Boykov and an accomplice rented land for beekeeping but instead established a mining farm with a capacity of 890 devices on the site. Boykov’s accomplice has been detained and placed in a pre-trial detention center, as reported by journalists from “Krasnoyarsk Online.”
Boykov’s aides assert that the deputy is not evading the investigation. Last autumn, he traveled abroad with his family for vacation, but during the trip, he experienced a hypertensive crisis. As a result, the parliamentarian was unable to return home and remained for treatment overseas, according to representatives of Boykov’s team on social media.
In the past two weeks, Boykov’s aides claim that his health has deteriorated. Doctors have prescribed inpatient treatment and imposed travel restrictions, with all supporting documents available to the investigation, as emphasized by Boykov’s representatives. Once medical clearance is granted, the deputy intends to personally participate in all procedural actions, according to a statement from his team. Currently, Boykov is fulfilling his parliamentary duties remotely.
“At this moment, there are no grounds for accusations against Alexey, yet the investigator has decided to place him on the wanted list. The reasons for the deputy’s temporary absence are known to the investigation and the defense and are supported by medical documentation,” the statement from Boykov’s team reads in their VK group.
Alexey Boykov leads the LDPR faction in the regional legislative assembly, which consists of four members. He assumed this position in April 2024 following the arrest of his predecessor, Alexander Gliskov, in a bribery case.
On January 31, the Zamoskvoretsky District Court in Moscow ordered the arrest of Igor Runets, the founder and CEO of the largest Russian mining company, BitRiver. He has been detained on charges of tax evasion. Bankruptcy proceedings have commenced against the company itself.
