Worldcoin introduces gas-free wallet exclusively for human users.

Worldcoin, a venture aimed at identifying humans and differentiating them from artificial intelligence, has introduced a gas-free cryptocurrency wallet for verified individuals, as announced on May 8.
The newly launched wallet, named “World App,” is compatible with both Android and iOS platforms. It currently operates on the Polygon (MATIC) network, enabling users to store and transfer United States Dollar Coin (USDC), Dai (DAI), Ether (ETH), Worldcoin (WLD), and Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC).
World App utilizes the project’s “World ID” framework to distinguish between humans and automated systems. Users wishing to benefit from gas-free transactions must first obtain a World ID by providing a phone number or undergoing an iris scan. Developers assert that the project does not retain users’ information. Instead, it creates a zero-knowledge proof to confirm the user’s humanity without disclosing the data used to produce the proof.
Users without a World ID can still access the app, but they will not be able to utilize the feeless transactions. The announcement indicated that the app employs account abstraction to facilitate third-party gas payments.

The initiative has collaborated with regulated cryptocurrency exchanges, such as Moonpay and Ramp, to provide onboarding and offboarding services within the wallet. Once assets are stored in the wallet, they can be exchanged through integrated Uniswap functionality. Users may also link their phone numbers to the app to send and receive cryptocurrency via their phone contacts.
In a discussion with Cointelegraph, Tiago Sada from the Worldcoin Core team mentioned that the wallet was designed to provide a straightforward option for novice cryptocurrency users.
“Initially, we launched with standard wallets, the kind that a power user like myself would utilize daily, and it became clear that these were too complex for the average person. There were excessive options and unclear functionalities,” he stated. “We’re introducing [World App] as a product that serves as an alternative wallet focused solely on simplicity.”
Worldcoin was co-founded by Sam Altman, who is also a co-founder of OpenAI, the organization behind ChatGPT.
