UK Judge Rules Craig Wright Is Not Satoshi Nakamoto

A judge in the UK has determined that Dr. Craig Wright is not the anonymous creator of Bitcoin, known as Satoshi Nakamoto.
Wright has asserted that he is the creator of Bitcoin and has claimed copyright over the Bitcoin whitepaper. However, these assertions have been rejected by Judge James Mellor.
The cryptocurrency community has expressed skepticism regarding Wright’s claims, and he has been engaged in a legal dispute with the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) and a group of Bitcoin Core developers since 2021.

COPA, which is supported by Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, has accused Wright of engaging in fraud and extortion. The trial, which wrapped up this week, commenced in a UK courtroom on February 5.
In his decision, Judge Mellor remarked:
“I will make certain declarations which I am satisfied are useful and are necessary to do justice between the parties.
First, that Dr. Wright is not the author of the Bitcoin White Paper. Second, Dr. Wright is not the individual who adopted or operated under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto during the period from 2008 to 2011.
Third, Dr. Wright is not the individual who created the Bitcoin System. And, fourth, he is not the author of the initial versions of the Bitcoin software.”
Before the trial, Wright proposed a settlement of the intellectual property dispute with COPA, but the organization publicly declined the offer.
