Digital Chamber Appeals to Vice President Harris for Support of Digital Asset Sector

The Digital Chamber, a cryptocurrency advocacy organization, shared on social media platform X on Monday that it has dispatched a letter to US Vice President Kamala Harris “with significant requests to bolster the digital asset sector.”

The Chamber emphasized, “It is in the best interest of the American populace for Democrats to fully embrace this technology,” highlighting that Harris “has a unique opportunity to spearhead this transformation.”

The letter from the Chamber articulates:

“As you are on the verge of becoming the Democratic presidential nominee, we write to encourage you to adopt a progressive stance on digital assets and blockchain technology, a domain that possesses vast potential for innovation, economic development, and financial inclusion.”

The letter delineates three primary requests for Vice President Harris. Firstly, the Chamber urged her to support the inclusion of pro-digital asset language in the party’s platform to “ensure the Party’s platform mirrors the prospective advantages of digital assets and blockchain technology.”

Secondly, the Chamber suggested the selection of a vice-presidential candidate with knowledge in digital asset policy, proposing Colorado Governor Jared Polis as a possible running mate due to his established expertise in digital asset technology.

Finally, the Chamber called on Harris to engage in constructive dialogue with leaders from the digital asset and blockchain sectors to formulate supportive policies.

“Digital assets and blockchain technology are not just financial tools but signify a transformative shift that can improve transparency, minimize fraud, and foster a more inclusive financial system,” the Chamber articulated in its letter.

“We contend that this technology transcends political boundaries and the Democratic Party should also advocate for these innovations to help reaffirm the U.S.’s position as a leader in the global digital economy.”

The Chamber’s letter concludes:

“We are optimistic that under your leadership, the Democratic Party can shift towards a more favorable position on digital assets, aligning with the hopes of millions of Americans who believe in the transformative potential of this technology.”
