Supported by Winklevoss Capital and co-owned by McCormack, Real Bedford FC has ambitious goals.

Since McCormack assumed control of the club in 2021, he has sought to elevate Bedford FC into the English Football League and ultimately the Premier League. This vision prompted the recent rebranding to Real Bedford FC and the adoption of Bitcoin earlier this year.

Currently, the club holds 82.7 BTC in its treasury, purchased at an average price of about $64,925 per Bitcoin. However, not all of these are reserved, as 15.8 BTC have been allocated for soccer-related expenditures.

The cryptocurrency community has taken note of this strategic move. Michael Saylor from MicroStrategy expressed approval with a “Real ₿edford” remark, while Hunter Horsley of Bitwise referred to McCormack as a “legend.”

With Bitcoin’s value increasing, particularly over the past two weeks, Real Bedford FC’s strategy distinguishes them as innovators in the football sector.

The proceeds from this investment will be utilized to enhance facilities and promote community-building initiatives, ensuring the club’s development and sustainability.
