MetaMask partners with Ondo to provide access to over 200 tokenized U.S. stocks within its cryptocurrency wallet.
This launch represents one of the initial instances where tokenized U.S. equities and ETFs have been made directly accessible through a prominent self-custodial wallet.

Key points to note:
- MetaMask, the well-known self-custodial wallet, has incorporated access to tokenized U.S. stocks, ETFs, and commodities via a new partnership with Ondo Finance’s Global Markets platform.
- Qualified MetaMask mobile users in “supported non-U.S. jurisdictions” can now purchase and trade over 200 U.S. tokenized securities.
MetaMask, the widely used self-custodial wallet, has introduced access to tokenized U.S. stocks, ETFs, and commodities through a recent collaboration with Ondo Finance’s Global Markets platform, as stated by the companies on Tuesday.
Qualified MetaMask mobile users in “supported non-U.S. jurisdictions” are now able to buy and trade more than 200 U.S. tokenized securities, including shares of companies such as Tesla, Apple, and Nvidia, along with ETFs that are linked to gold, silver, and the Nasdaq, directly within the wallet, eliminating the need for a conventional brokerage account, according to the announcement.

This launch signifies one of the earliest instances in which tokenized U.S. equities and ETFs have been made natively accessible through a significant self-custodial wallet, emphasizing how the tokenization of real-world assets may become more intertwined with traditional financial systems.
This initiative arrives as the market for tokenized real-world assets has expanded to over $22 billion globally, according to the companies, as cryptocurrency firms aim to merge traditional finance with on-chain markets.
“Access to U.S. markets continues to rely on outdated systems. Brokerage accounts, disparate applications, and inflexible trading hours have not significantly progressed,” remarked Joe Lubin, the founder and CEO of Consensys and co-founder of Ethereum, in a press release provided to CoinDesk. “Integrating Ondo’s tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs directly into MetaMask illustrates what an improved model looks like. A single, self-custodial wallet where individuals can transition between crypto and traditional assets without intermediaries and while retaining control.”
