What to know:
- Stephanie Lemmerman joined Kraken from Dapper Labs in November 2024 and served as the exchange’s CFO for a duration of one year and four months.
- Robert Moore, who is Kraken’s VP of business expansion, has effectively assumed the role, according to the source.
Kraken dismissed its chief financial officer, Stephanie Lemmerman, as the cryptocurrency exchange gears up for a public listing in the United States in the early part of this year, based on insights from two sources familiar with the developments.
Lemmerman transitioned to Kraken from Dapper Labs in November 2024 and fulfilled her duties as CFO for one year and four months. She is now engaged in a strategic advisory capacity at Kraken, according to one of the sources.

Robert Moore, previously the VP of business expansion, has essentially taken over her responsibilities, as stated by the source. An updated leadership page on the website of Kraken’s parent company, Payward Inc., identifies Moore as deputy CFO. Lemmerman is not listed.
It is significant that Kraken has relieved its CFO following a confidential submission to U.S. regulators in November. This filing occurred only days after Kraken secured $800 million at a valuation of $20 billion, which included $200 million from Citadel Securities.
Others who have received promotions to senior positions include Curtis Ting, appointed chief operating officer in December, and Kamo Asatryan, who was made chief data officer in January.
A second source acquainted with the changes indicated that finance at Kraken is evolving to become more product-oriented rather than merely a back-office function.
Kraken chose not to provide a comment.
