‘BUY $BTC’ Notice Surfaces in Unauthorized GTA 6 Game Trailer

The eagerly awaited Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 game trailer featured an advertisement promoting Bitcoin purchases, attributed to an anonymous source.
The current inquiry is whether cryptocurrency will be included in Grand Theft Auto 6, as has been widely speculated. While such assertions remain unverified, the intersection of crypto and GTA 6 gained significant attention this week when the trailer was inadvertently leaked, showcasing a ‘Buy BTC‘ advertisement prominently displayed.
The unidentified leaker established a now-suspended Twitter account named “Gta6trailerleak” and released the first unofficial trailer for the highly anticipated game on Monday, just a day prior to Rockstar Games announcing its release.

Although the account was swiftly banned, the trailer had already begun to circulate, prompting Rockstar to release the official version ahead of schedule, devoid of the advertisement.
The leaked trailer, which remains accessible on other platforms, provided gamers with an initial glimpse of the forthcoming open-world action game.

It also prominently displayed the phrase “BUY $BTC,” placing the leading cryptocurrency in front of potentially millions of eager gamers.
The official trailer, however, did not feature the pro-Bitcoin message.
While Rockstar Games may not have welcomed the unexpected trailer leak, some Bitcoin enthusiasts are enjoying the viral moment for the recently surging top cryptocurrency.
“They took down the [account] lmao but the GTA leaker shilled our bags,” tweeted Standard Crypto investor Colin Hong. “God’s work.”

Bitcoin influencer and Taproot Wizards project co-founder Udi Wertheimer commended the trailer’s reach and utilized it as a chance to critique “laser-eye” Bitcoin maximalists.

Grand Theft Auto 6 was officially announced on Monday, shortly after the trailer leak, with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S game scheduled for release in 2025.
The game will debut 12 years after the launch of Grand Theft Auto 5, which has sold approximately 190 million copies to date across PC and three generations of gaming consoles.
Bitcoin has experienced significant growth in recent weeks, surpassing $44,000 for the first time in 20 months earlier this week. The price has increased by 25% over the past 30 days, currently standing at $44,023, according to data from Coinstats.

The rise in Bitcoin’s price is partly attributed to expectations that a Bitcoin spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) will receive approval in the United States for the first time.
There does not seem to have been any specific price increase on Monday linked to the GTA 6 trailer leak.
