Bitcoin Breaks $26,500 as Crypto Market Rebounds: Solana and Ethereum Rally

The cryptocurrency market experienced a significant surge on Thursday morning in Asia, with Bitcoin breaking through the $26,500 mark. This rally followed a substantial one-day increase the previous day, marking a strong recovery from the downward trend of the prior week. Ether also gained momentum, challenging the $1,700 resistance level, while the top 10 non-stablecoin cryptocurrencies posted notable gains. This upward movement mirrored a parallel rally in U.S. equity markets, driven by economic data suggesting a potential slowdown.
Solana’s SOL token emerged as a standout performer, boosted by its strategic partnership with Shopify under the Solana Pay banner. This collaboration aims to transform e-commerce by enabling direct USDC payments on the Shopify platform. The move benefits users by eliminating intermediary fees and could signal a new era for digital currency transactions in online retail.
Concurrently, the Forkast 500 NFT index saw a slight decline following OpenSea’s decision to stop enforcing creator royalties, a shift that continues to impact the market. However, positive sentiment was bolstered by Nvidia’s strong earnings report, which saw its shares rise by 6% and contribute to broader strength in U.S. equities.
Ether followed Bitcoin’s upward trend, climbing 3.04% to $1,681.25. Although it experienced a 7.06% drop over the week, Ether maintained stability amid market volatility. In regulatory news, the Europe-based exchange Bitstamp announced it would halt Ether staking services for U.S. customers starting September 25, citing evolving regulatory conditions in the United States.
Solana’s SOL token surged 5.35% to $21.61, though it remained down 5.23% for the week. The Solana Pay and Shopify alliance is expected to reshape payments by allowing users to transact with USDC without intermediary fees. According to TechCrunch, the partnership may eventually expand to support other payment options, including SOL and BOND.
The total cryptocurrency market capitalization rebounded by 2.53% to $1.07 trillion. Trading volume increased by 10.71% to $35.37 billion, indicating renewed market activity and optimism for future developments.
