Bitcoin Price Could Resume Uptrend as Bearish Momentum Fades

Bitcoin, the world’s leading cryptocurrency, is facing challenges as it struggles to build bullish momentum above the $29,500 level. Currently trading below $30,100 and the 100-hourly Simple Moving Average (SMA), Bitcoin encounters a significant obstacle in the form of a key bearish trendline near $30,020, according to the BTC/USD hourly chart from Kraken.
For a potential upward move to begin, Bitcoin must secure a decisive close above the $30,200 resistance level. Although the digital asset has maintained relatively strong bids above $29,500, it recently underwent a slight upward correction after establishing a support base. The price briefly broke through the $29,850 resistance zone, climbing above the 50% Fibonacci retracement level of the significant drop from the $30,447 swing high to the $29,500 low. However, bears continue to exert influence near the $30,050 mark. Additionally, a notable bearish trendline is forming, with resistance around $30,020 on the BTC/USD hourly chart.
At present, Bitcoin trades below $30,100 and the 100-hourly SMA, with immediate resistance located near the trendline zone. The first major resistance level sits near $30,085, closely aligned with the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement of the key drop from the $30,447 swing high to the $29,500 low. The next major resistance level is around $30,450. A close above this critical threshold could trigger a fresh upward surge, potentially driving the price toward $30,850. Further gains could pave the way for a move toward the $31,200 resistance zone.
Conversely, failure to break through the $30,085 resistance could lead to continued downward movement. Immediate support is found near $29,800, while the next significant support level lies around $29,500. A breach below this level may result in further downside momentum, with the price potentially dropping toward the $29,200 support zone. In a worst-case scenario, additional losses could push Bitcoin toward the $28,400 level in the near term.
Technical indicators suggest a shift in market dynamics. The hourly MACD shows a loss of bearish momentum, signaling potential changes in market direction. Meanwhile, the hourly Relative Strength Index (RSI) for BTC/USD remains above the 50 level, indicating balanced sentiment between buyers and sellers.
In conclusion, Bitcoin is at a critical juncture as it navigates resistance levels and key support thresholds. Traders and investors are closely watching for a breakthrough above the $30,085 resistance, which could set the stage for a renewed rally. However, the market remains cautious, recognizing that failing to overcome this obstacle may trigger further downside potential. As the crypto market continues to evolve, attention remains fixed on Bitcoin’s next move.
