A cryptocurrency’s market valuation is often seen as a measure of its influence. This is why many individuals regard market capitalization as the most significant criterion when ranking different cryptocurrencies.

Since the start of the year, Bitcoin’s price has surged dramatically, leading its market capitalization to rise to a level that has eclipsed the valuations of numerous major global corporations.

In recent years, Bitcoin’s appeal has increased significantly. Due to its rapid appreciation in value, Bitcoin has outpaced some of the most established and recognized companies worldwide. Already this year, the leading cryptocurrency has overtaken three of the most prominent brands in the technology and traditional finance sectors.

No Way Close to All-time High

As per data from CMC, Bitcoin’s market valuation stands at $539.16 billion as of April 7. Bitcoin currently holds the eighth-largest market cap, surpassing Visa ($465.13B) and LVMH ($495.84B).

Apple’s valuation of $2605.24B places it well ahead of Microsoft’s $2170.61B valuation, securing the top position. Additionally, it is only $20.29B short of surpassing Meta and moving into the seventh position on the list.

However, on March 14, Bitcoin’s market valuation exceeded Meta’s $469 billion, marking a notable achievement for the cryptocurrency.

Although Bitcoin’s price has risen recently, it remains 59% below its all-time high of $69,044 reached on November 10, 2021. Should the price approach that level again, it is likely to increase rapidly.
