Hoskinson Responds to Online Criticism Regarding Cardano’s Development

- Charles Hoskinson interacts with a critic questioning Cardano’s development roadmap on social media.
- Hoskinson counters assertions that Hydra is being neglected, stating it and Mithril are both under active development.
- Dismisses the critic as a “maxi mind” envious of Cardano’s advancements despite Ethereum’s constraints.
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of the Cardano blockchain platform, recently responded to an online critic who challenged the network’s development roadmap. Through a series of posts, Hoskinson defended Cardano’s continuous efforts on significant upgrades such as Hydra and Mithril.
This exchange took place on the social media platform X, where a user made various predictions aimed at discrediting Cardano’s technical trajectory. They suggested that Hoskinson would soon cease work on the scaling solution Hydra while shifting focus to other tools like input endorsers.
It's getting delusion town now. Hydra is live on mainnet and evolving fast. Mithril is live as well and the first step towards a rich DA and light client strategy. We already designed a significantly better way of handling transactions via tiered pricing and Babel fees.

Cardano’s Hoskinson defends Hydra
However, Hoskinson firmly rejected this notion, asserting that both Hydra and Mithril are currently being developed and enhanced. He specifically referenced Hydra’s mainnet launch and Mithril’s function in facilitating light clients and delegation mechanisms.
The critic also accused Hoskinson of imitating Ethereum, a platform he co-founded, while expressing disdain for the project. In response, Hoskinson highlighted Ethereum’s own limitations regarding consensus and programming that Cardano seeks to address.
“We are living rent free in the maxi minds. I pity them,” concluded Hoskinson, referring to extremists who fervently support one blockchain over others.
The intense yet relatively respectful discussion illustrates how Hoskinson actively engages with both Cardano advocates and critics through social media. Supporters value his openness and dedication to constructive dialogue.
Nonetheless, Hoskinson’s straightforward approach may be unappealing to some. Regardless, Cardano’s expanding community of developers and users continues to steadily enhance the network, solidifying its position as a leading blockchain protocol.
